Grizzly Bear Lodge Tours and Safari is one of only two grizzly bear tour operators licensed to view grizzly bears upriver from Knight Inlet. This provides our guests with a rare opportunity to watch the grizzly bears up close feeding on salmon. Photographers and camera buffs can get close up to view bears fishing and interacting. Grizzly Bear Lodge And Safari 2011 News Report:2011 year has been one of the best for grizzly bear tours and whale watching. We averaged six grizzly bears per visit plus a mother grizzly with two cubs who were daily visitors. A heavy rain pushed the salmon up stream earlier this year drawing the bears to the river below our viewing stands. We had a record year for viewing orca (killer whales), humpback and dolphins. There were a few days when we saw more than 3 different pods of orca meeting and playing in the Johnstone Strait. We are looking forward to more renovations this winter and a early start to the 2012 season.
